FairTax, The Time Is Now!

This is an excerpt from boortz.com, the website of the Neal boortz radio show. Neal posted this on his site on April 15 and invited everyone to use this "scenario" from his book. From chapter 12 of his book, "FairTax: The Truth, Answering the Critics."

---We want you to imagine life under the FairTax.  Just set aside all of your objections and questions for a few minutes.  Put the "what ifs" and "buts" away and imagine that for your entire life you have been living and working in a United States where the federal government is funded by the FairTax, not a tax on your income.  For the moment please set aside any misgivings you might have as to whether or not the FairTax would work.  Just pretend for a moment that your reality is the FairTax ... and accept this scenario as we have presented it.

To help you out we're going to tell you how your day-to-day life would be under the FairTax. And, then, we'll see how you feel about getting rid of the FairTax you've been living with all of your hypothetical life and replacing it with a grand new idea of a combination of business and personal income taxes combined with some payroll taxes and a few other goodies thrown in.

We know we need to get to it here, but we just want to make sure the ground rules are clear here.  If we haven't accomplished this then you should return this book and head back to the book store; this time to the children's section

OK...Here is your imaginary "reality", the tax system you've been living under your entire life...thus far.

  • On every payday you get your complete paycheck. There are no deductions.  No withheld income tax, no Social Security Tax, no Medicare tax. If you earn $2,000 per week, you get a check for $4,000 every two weeks.  You have never had to make a distinction between what you earn and your "take-home pay."
  • Throughout your work life, every time you have ever earned a raise where you work, and every time you've ever changed jobs for more pay, you have never had to try to figure out in your mind how much of that raise, or how much of your new paycheck, you are going to be able to "keep."  A $5,200 per year raise has always meant an extra $200 every other week in your paycheck.
  • You have never had to save receipts or create any records pertaining to federal taxes.  The only real purpose you have for a receipt is in case you want to return that ugly dress your husband bought for you.
  • You have always been able to invest what you earn without first having to pay any federal taxes on it.  Every time you've had money left over at the end of the month you've put that money into a savings account or other investment.  That money has never been taxed, nor has the interest you earned and nor has the gains on your investment.
  • When your parents died they left all they had for you, just as their parents did for them.  There were no taxes when your parent's inherited your grandparent's estate, and no taxes to be paid when you inherited from your parents.  You know that you will be able to leave whatever you have earned and accumulated to whomever you wish[3] without any tax consequences.  You have never known the death of a loved one to be a taxable event.
  • Every time you have gone to the store to buy an item, and the price tag said $19.99, you have handed a $20 bill to the cashier and received one penny as change.  All your life the price tag on the item has been the price you paid at the cash register, all of your life the tax man has taken his 23% out of that purchase price, and all your life that stupid little trick of trying to make something appear to be cheaper by lopping one cent of the price has ticked you off.
  • There are four people in your household. You, your spouse and two rug rats. At the beginning of every month you get a check or a credit to your checking or charge card account in the amount of $506.00 to compensate you for the federal sales taxes that are included in the price of everything you are expected to buy during that month -- right up to the poverty level.  You know now, as you have always known, that you can purchase the basic necessities for your family without paying any tax whatsoever to the federal government.
  • For you, paying taxes to the federal government has always been voluntary.  You save your money after providing the basics to your family, and you're not taxed.  You spend your money, you are taxed.  Your choice.
  • You have never had to fill out a federal tax return.
  • You've never received a letter from the IRS.
  • For all you know an IRS agent is someone who works for the Iowa Railroad System.
  • You have never had your bank make a report to the federal government on your deposit or withdrawal habits, either with or without your knowledge.
  • The federal government has never surreptitiously gone to your bank to peer through your statements for the past seven years.
  • Though you've never heard of something called the Alternative Minimum Tax, the very sound of that phrase is unsettling to you.
  • You have had to hide under your bed to avoid getting a good job, such being the strength of the American economy.
  • You have never known of any instance where any politician in Washington has ever tried to use federal tax policy to control your behavior in any way.

Now that doesn't sound like such a bad deal, does it? You keep all of the money you earn and you get five hundred bucks a month from the feds. Plus...you only pay taxes when you spend money.

Now that we've established your economic situation, along comes a politician who has a grand new scheme for a new tax system.  Now the true purpose of this politician's proposed new tax code is to take more of your power over your own economic life and transfer that power to Washington DC.  The politician gets together with some DC power brokers and comes up with a grand idea.  Before it can become the new law of the land, he has to explain it to you and get your support.  After all, it's going to take a Constitutional amendment to get this done.

Here we go.  Here's the great new idea.  Remember, now, you've been living under the FairTax since the day you were downloaded.  So here is this caring, compassionate politician with a great new idea that is going to make your life so much more pleasant.  Listen, and tell us that he has a better idea.

The plan is simple. First the inclusive national retail sales tax is going to be removed from the price of everything you buy. This will mean that everything will cost 23% less than it does now.

So far so good, but you had better be real quick with your celebrations, because all is not as it seems.

The next step in this politician's grand plan is to have the federal government tax every single penny that you earn.  Now you're a pretty successful kind of person, and this new tax plan this politician is trying to sell you is going to tax you based on how successful you are at making money.   But hey! You might think that it's perfectly fine for you to pay more taxes if you earn more money.  After all, that's the way it has been since you drew your first pay check.  The more you earned, the more you spent; and the more you spent the more retail sales tax you ended up paying to the federal government.

Well, your politician friend has a bit of a twist for you.  Sure, you're going to pay more income tax as your income goes up; but here's the surprise.  The more successful you are the higher the income tax rate is going to be!

Oh!  You want details?  Well, for some reason this politician is a bit reluctant to give you the details on just how this fancy new income tax is going to hit you, but we've managed to look into a crystal ball and copy down the figures.  So here you go.

Now ... as you absorb these figures, remember this:  Up until now all you have ever done is pay 23 cents out of every dollar you spend to the federal government. That's it.  We're not trying to hammer this in...but remember that you've never paid anything on any money you've invested or saved.

Now...under the grand new scheme...here's what you will pay[4]:

  1. You will pay 10% of every dollar you earn up to $15,650.
  2. You will pay 15% on every dollar you earn between $15,650 and $63,700.
  3. Then you'll pay 25% on every dollar from $63,700 to $128,500.
  4. Next you'll pay 28% on every dollar from $128,500 to $195,850.
  5. Then you'll pay 33% on each dollar from $195,850 to $349,700.
  6. Finally, you'll pay 35% on each dollar over $349,700

We'll assume you're in the middle income bracket.  Does the plan sound good to you so far?  You used to pay a 23% inclusive sales tax on purchases past the poverty level ... now you'll have to pay 25%, not just on what you spend, but on what you earn!  Push those earnings up a bit and the rate climbs!

You're ready to donate money to this character's campaign, aren't you?

Not only will you, as an individual, be taxed, but so will every individual and every business that plays any role at all in bringing every single product you buy and every single service you use to the marketplace.  Now you can rest assured that these businesses and individuals aren't going to take these new federal taxes lying down.  To them, the new federal taxes are just going to be another cost of doing business, and like all other business expenses, they're going to be factored into the cost of whatever they produce. These taxes will end up embedded into the prices of products in our retail marketplace.

You've heard, haven't you, the old saying about stuff rolling down hill?  Well that stuff would be taxes, though you've probably heard the stuff referred to as something else.

Checking back with ya!  Does this grand new tax plan sound good to you so far?

Wait!  There's even more to the fancy new tax plan.

Next your political benefactor is going to take away your $500 per month rebate from the government. In its place he's going to tax every penny you earn.  You are going to get some tax deductions under this plan, but these deductions don't come anywhere close to the prebate you've been receiving all your working life.

Now if you aren't already dancing in the aisles over the prospect of this great new tax plan, this ought to do it for you.  Not only does the new plan this politician is trying to sell you tax your income, but there's also going to be a nifty little thing called payroll taxes!

All your life Social Security and Medicare has been paid out of the federal revenues generated by the FairTax.  The rates your politician is proposing for the new federal income tax isn't going to cover the cost of Social Security and Medicare, so you're going to have to pay for them separately.

First; Social Security.  Your employer is going to start deducting 6.2% out of every one of your paychecks.  It's going to be called a "contribution," but there is nothing voluntary about it.  Your employer is going to have to "match" that "contribution" with another 6.2%.  Come on, now.  You're smarter than that, aren't you? You realize that your employer is not going to merely swallow that 6.2%.  It's either going to come out of your next pay raise (good luck on that for a while) or the price of whatever you are making and selling is going up.  You also know that if you were to change jobs under this grand new plan, any new salary would be reduced by the employer's increased costs for this "matching contribution" nonsense.

Medicare? Nope, it won't be funded out of the income tax revenues.  Just like Social Security, you're going to get nailed with yet another new tax to cover Medicare!  How much?  Well, the new plan is going to use that same "matching contribution" idea, so you'll end up paying another 2.9% of everything you earn.

Are you adding all of this up?  You'll be paying 25% on your income for income taxes, plus those Social Security and Medicare taxes.  So—including the matching—you're in the 40% range, and remember ... right now you're only paying 23% on everything you spend.

Come on, folks.  Be serious.  How in the world is any politician going to be able to sell such a ridiculous idea to you?

Wait! We're not through here.  There are still more facets to this new tax system that you have to consider and pass on.

  • Do you have any investments out there?  You have always been able to invest with absolutely no tax consequences.  Now you learn that if this new tax idea becomes law, not only are you going to have to give the government a share of your earnings before you even invest them, but then you're going to also have to pay the government on any money you earn with that investment!  They're going to call it a "capital gains" tax.  What they're really talking about is a tax on capitalism.
  • We're going to have a death tax!  Isn't that just grand?  When you die your family is going to have to file a complicated estate tax return. A huge amount of the wealth you have managed to build during your life is going to be sent to the government. Your survivors may well have to sell the family business in order to come up with the money to pay for these death taxes.

Just a few more points about this new tax plan they want you to embrace:

  • You're going to have to keep records of all of your financial transactions.
  • Every year you're going to have to spend no less than about 30 hours or spend hundreds of dollars to hire someone to fill out tax forms for you.
  • Trillions of dollars will leave the American economy to work in foreign markets where the tax treatment will be much better.  Billions more will be spent by businesses and individuals in this country to cover the cost of compliance with the new tax scheme.
  • If you make mistakes on your federal tax forms you will be hit with a huge penalty and interest. You could even go to jail.
  • The government is going to have access to all of your financial records to make sure that you are paying what some politicians will decide is "your fair share."
  • Politicians will soon learn that they can curry favor with voters by pandering to their jealousies and raising taxes on the evil rich.  If you work hard, that would be you.
  • Thousands of people will start earning big bucks inside the Beltway lobbying members of congress for favorable tax treatment for their clients.
  • America will no longer be the world's number one tax haven.  Businesses will pack up and leave to find a place where they can do business without a tax component on capital and labor. One of the jobs lost could be yours.

The question, of course, is why does this politician want to change the tax system in this way? Why is he trying so hard – spending so much money – to convince you that his new system would be so much better for you and the country than the simple national retail sales tax you've been paying whenever you buy something?

There's a one-word answer to that question.  Power.

The more politicians can control your access to your own wealth and earnings, the more powerful they are.  The more politicians can affect businesses and important business decisions with tax policy, the more powerful they are.  The more a politician can adversely affect the financial picture of one segment of our economy for the benefit of another, the more powerful that politician is.  The more politicians can pander to the petty fears and jealousies of people by punishing high achievers for their efforts, the more powerful they are.

Under the FairTax these politicians have had no power to use tax policy to favor one group of voters over another for the benefit of votes. Bring in the new income tax scheme and wonderful new horizons for manipulation and power brokering open up for any politician who would like to use it. And what politician wouldn't?

There.  Hopefully this exercise has given you somewhat of a new perspective on the FairTax.  No, the FairTax isn't perfect.  Can anyone really conceive of a perfect system whereby government can use its police power to forcibly take a person's private property to fund its operations?

But you do have a choice, my friends.  If we had the FairTax now ... would you be willing to make the switch?

We, of course, believe that after research at some of the most prestigious institutions in America  the FairTax, as laid out in 133 pages, should be passed as it is.  That is not likely in the legislative process.  Indeed, after nearly a decade of talking about the FairTax, some very interesting and valuable recommendations have been brought to us.  For example:  The effective date of the act could be made contingent on the repeal of the 16th amendment.  That is not in the bill as written.

We know that the Washington DC lobby interests will move from gaming the current code to finding exemptions for this industry or that interest. Perhaps we should change the bill to require a "super majority" to exempt or exclude any good or service.  Serious people who agree with our goals may disagree with our way of achieving them.

Most nations which have gone to a consumption tax have gone to a value added tax (VAT).  We believe that the VAT, which taxes every increase in value of a product at a low level and ends up costing the consumer upwards of 20% in some countries, is too hidden and too easy to raise.  It clearly is, though, easier to administer.

Some have suggested that we have a lower rate on sales and a small tax on the incomes of very wealthy income earners.  This is where we draw the line.  Our current income tax began as a flat tax on high income earners.  It was flattened again in 1986.  It has been amended 16,000 times in the last 20 years.  Every nation that starts out with a little of each has wound up with a lot of both.  One or the other!  Not both!

If we go back to the principles that the tax code must be simple, fair, voluntary, transparent, border neutral, and industry neutral as well as strengthen our retirement programs, and pass anything that accomplishes those goals, we will have succeeded.

Our Vision for Tomorrow is an America in which every American, including you, can be a voluntary tax payer paying taxes when you choose, as much as you choose by how you choose to spend.

Our Vision for Tomorrow is an America where an individual driven to achieve and excel through hard work is not punished by a tax system that singles him out for mountains of record-keeping and paperwork all leading to a punitive increase in his taxes.

Our Vision for Tomorrow is an America with a tax system that can be used to spread freedom across the world.

Under the FairTax Vision for Tomorrow every time an American buys a loaf of bread or a new car they will know, to the penny, just how much of that money that they earned is going to the federal government.

Our Vision for Tomorrow sees a government that is a partner with the business community and the people, not an adversary; a government with a tax system that encourages economic development and the creation of new business, rather than a government and a tax system that chases valued businesses to foreign shores.

Our Vision for Tomorrow is one where governance returns to the local level; where communities are allowed to make the important decisions regarding their government and their schools.[5]  No longer will politicians be able to hide regulations and programs that control every aspect of our lives in nine million words of confusing and draconian codes and regulations.  The FairTax will demand political honesty.  If the congress decides to come up with a new program, or the expansion of a current program, that program will show up on the spending side of the ledger for you and other citizens to see.  It's called transparency; and with the FairTax, with the beautiful simplicity of a tax system based on consumption spending, you will be more able to hold your elected officials accountable for the decisions that they make to expand the cost and the scope of government.  Good for you; perhaps not so good for the people wanting your votes.

Perhaps that point needs expanding somewhat.  Today most Americans do not think twice about government spending because they have somehow come to believe that someone else is really paying for it.  This is especially true for the bottom 50% of our income earners, who pay no income taxes and are disproportionate beneficiaries of government spending.  It's also true for the vast majority of our retired citizens.  Under the FairTax nobody pays federal taxes on the basic necessities of life.  But when you make the choice to spend beyond those necessities, you are taxed.  Whether you are poor or retired, you will pay the tax on all spending above the poverty level.  With more people actively participating in funding our government, more people will want to pay attention to just how that money is spent.  As we said, good for you – but maybe not for the politicians.

Our Vision for Tomorrow sees an America where jobs are insourced, not outsourced.  You have read where former Secretary of the Treasury, John Snow, said, "You have just proposed the biggest magnet for capital and jobs in history."  We will welcome legal immigrants to our country to do these jobs and they will not only contribute tax dollars to our government every time they buy a loaf of bread, but will have an incentive to come here legally and get in line to become citizens.  Under the FairTax, you see, only legal residents escape taxation on the cost of basic necessities.  Prospective citizens will have a sense of ownership in the future of our country and will be just as interested as you are in throwing out the illegals who come here to take advantage of government-funded largesse or to get involved in criminal activity.

Our Vision for Tomorrow sees an America that becomes the safest and most secure tax haven for trillions of dollars now offshore.  The return of these dollars to our markets will make your and your neighbor's "nest eggs" grow dramatically.  The capital infusion will add to job creation and thus more consumption and more revenues to help deal with the growth of our entitlement programs.  It will also reduce interest rates for all borrowers.

Our Vision for Tomorrow sees an America that enjoys a virtual $400 billion per year tax cut.  This is a good estimate of the amount of money that individuals and businesses now spend every year simply to figure out and obey our current tax code.  With the tax code abolished and the collection process simplified, this money will stay in our pockets where it can work for economic growth; it is money no longer spent to feed the federal bureaucracy.

Our Vision for Tomorrow sees an America which becomes an exporting behemoth selling goods and services into a global economy unburdened by the 22% tax component now in our price system.  Our balances of trade and payments will improve because of it.  Other nations' sales to Americans will face the same tax treatment as our sales to their citizens have faced for decades.  Imports to us will no longer have an advantage at our checkout counters over our domestically produced products.

Our Vision for Tomorrow sees an America where no one will any longer to be able to live "under the radar".  Beneficiaries of illicit money and illegal labor will pay their share of our government burden each time they buy a car or a loaf of bread.

Perhaps our most exciting Vision for Tomorrow is that our grandchildren will keep what they earn.  A tomorrow where they will not face a doubling of the payroll tax on every dollar they earn to pay for our retirement benefits.  A tomorrow where interest rates will be lower, making homes and cars more affordable.  And a tomorrow where savings will not be punished so saving for their children's education and putting money aside for retirement will be easier.

Do we have some rather grandiose ideas as to the changes that can be brought about by the adoption of the FairTax?  Yes, we suppose we do.  But we don't feel that these are pipe dreams.  With the economic revolution that would be brought by the FairTax, and with the massive transfer of power from the federal government to the people that would be the inevitable result, we are confident that these ideas, our Vision for Tomorrow, can be fully realized.  And we're not alone.  Millions of Americans, from presidential candidates to renowned economists to union members see the opportunities that await us as well.

Finally, isn't that what life is all about?  Don't we seek, throughout our lives, to leave a future for our children and grandchildren better than the world our parents left to us?

It is our view that this discussion of freedom, growth, and opportunity cannot even take place under the current tax code that punishes initiative and thrift and rewards consumption.  It is our view that reversing the incentives so that we encourage people to produce and invest and save will give our children an opportunity to realize that Vision for Tomorrow and the FairTax does just that!

Pat Robertson, Newt Gingrich, Al Sharpton. John McCain

Question: What do these men have in common?

Answer: AL GORE!

As many of you know by now, the bloated fraud we all love is back with tens of millions of dollars and he's trying once again to educate us about the dangers of "man-made global warming."

So Algore will be running a series of infomercials featuring none other than:

-Pat Robertson (Mr. 700 Club) and Al Sharpton (Mr. Tawana Brawley) sitting together and agreeing that "climate change" is a threat they agree we can fix.
-Newt Gingrich will also be featured in Al's climate fraud commercials, Newty's just bathing himself in glory, eh?
-McCain's rumored to be in one of Al's spots too! Ain't it enough to get you all goose bumpy!?

*A word of advice for Newt, Pat, and John:
Go to Cape Cod. If you catch the morning winds just right you'll feel the chill as you stick your fat, wet fingers way up in the air.
There will be NO MISTAKING which way the wind's blowing! The lot of you disgust me.

It seems Algore's carbon credit sales scam isn't working so well after one of the coldest winters in over 100 years. When it snows in Baghdad AND Athens it becomes increasingly tough to sell carbon credits. Even leftist dupes aren't THAT stupid, and fat frauds like Algore gotta eat after all.

I believe that the myth of man-made global warming is the single biggest long-term threat to our freedom; and YES I'm including radical Islam and the Teacher's Unions in that assessment! It's a leftist Trojan Horse full of government regulations and taxes on business. All of which means MORE goverment control and LESS human freedom. A simple look at the incredible political division on the topic alone should be enough to tell a reasonablly intelligent person to be VERY skeptical about the Warmista's claims. It's also instructive that the "solutions" to the "problem" are a potpourri of Socialist programs. THAT should convince the Sun to back off! LOL! Enjoy.

Jakarta Post, Indonesia
Christopher Monckton, 5 December 2007

As a contributor to the IPCC's 2007 report, I share the Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore. Yet I and many of my peers in the British House of Lords - through our hereditary element the most independent-minded of lawmakers - profoundly disagree on fundamental scientific grounds with both the IPCC and my co-laureate's alarmist movie An Inconvenient Truth, which won this year's Oscar for Best Sci-Fi Comedy Horror.

Two detailed investigations by Committees of the House confirm that the IPCC has deliberately, persistently and prodigiously exaggerated not only the effect of greenhouse gases on temperature but also the environmental consequences of warmer weather. My contribution to the 2007 report illustrates the scientific problem.

The report's first table of figures - inserted by the IPCC's bureaucrats after the scientists had finalized the draft, and without their consent - listed four contributions to sea-level rise.

The bureaucrats had multiplied the effect of melting ice from the Greenland and West Antarctic Ice Sheets by 10.

The result of this dishonest political tampering with the science was that the sum of the four items in the offending table was more than twice the IPCC's published total. Until I wrote to point out the error, no one had noticed. The IPCC, on receiving my letter, quietly corrected, moved and relabeled the erroneous table, posting the new version on the internet and earning me my Nobel prize. The shore-dwellers of Bali need not fear for their homes.

The IPCC now says the combined contribution of the two great ice-sheets to sea-level rise will be less than seven centimeters after 100 years, not seven meters imminently, and that the Greenland ice sheet (which thickened by 50 cm between 1995 and 2005) might only melt after several millennia, probably by natural causes, just as it last did 850,000 years ago.

Gore, mendaciously assisted by the IPCC bureaucracy, had exaggerated a hundredfold. Recently a High Court judge in the UK listed nine of the 35 major scientific errors in Gore's movie, saying they must be corrected before innocent schoolchildren can be exposed to the movie.

Gore's exaggeration of sea-level rise was one. Others being peddled at the Bali conference are that man-made "global warming" threatens polar bears and coral reefs, caused Hurricane Katrina, shrank Lake Chad, expanded the actually-shrinking Sahara, etc.

At the very heart of the IPCC's calculations lurks an error more serious than any of these. The IPCC says: "The CO2 radiative forcing increased by 20 percent during the last 10 years (1995-2005)." Radiative forcing quantifies increases in radiant energy in the atmosphere, and hence in temperature. The atmospheric concentration of CO2 in 1995 was 360 parts per million. In 2005 it was just 5percent higher, at 378 ppm. But each additional molecule of CO2 in the air causes a smaller radiant-energy increase than its predecessor.

So the true increase in radiative forcing was 1 percent, not 20 percent. The IPCC has exaggerated the CO2 effect 20-fold. Why so large and crucial an exaggeration? Answer: the IPCC has repealed the fundamental physical the Stefan-Boltzmann equation - that converts radiant energy to temperature.

Without this equation, no meaningful calculation of the effect of radiance on temperature can be done. Yet the 1,600 pages of the IPCC's 2007 report do not mention it once. The IPCC knows of the equation, of course. But it is inconvenient. It imposes a strict (and very low) limit on how much greenhouse gases can increase temperature. At the Earth's surface, you can add as much greenhouse gas as you like (the "surface forcing"), and the temperature will scarcely respond.

That is why all of the IPCC's computer models predict that 10km above Bali, in the tropical upper troposphere, temperature should be rising two or three times as fast as it does at the surface. Without that tropical upper-troposphere "hot-spot", the Stefan-Boltzmann law ensures that surface temperature cannot change much.

For half a century we have been measuring the temperature in the upper atmosphere - and it has been changing no faster than at the surface. The IPCC knows this, too. So it merely declares that its computer predictions are right and the real-world measurements are wrong.

Next time you hear some scientifically-illiterate bureaucrat say, "The science is settled", remember this vital failure of real-world observations to confirm the IPCC's computer predictions.

The IPCC's entire case is built on a guess that the absent hot-spot might exist. Even if the Gore/IPCC exaggerations were true, which they are not, the economic cost of trying to mitigate climate change by trying to cut our emissions through carbon trading and other costly market interferences would far outweigh any possible climatic benefit.

The international community has galloped lemming-like over the cliff twice before. Twenty years ago the UN decided not to regard AIDS as a fatal infection. Carriers of the disease were not identified and isolated. Result: 25 million deaths in poor countries.

Thirty-five years ago the world decided to ban DDT, the only effective agent against malaria. Result: 40 million deaths in poor countries. The World Health Organization lifted the DDT ban on Sept. 15 last year. It now recommends the use of DDT to control malaria. Dr. Arata Kochi of the WHO said that politics could no longer be allowed to stand in the way of the science and the data. Amen to that.

If we take the heroically stupid decisions now on the table at Bali, it will once again be the world's poorest people who will die unheeded in their tens of millions, this time for lack of the heat and light and power and medical attention which we in the West have long been fortunate enough to take for granted.

If we deny them the fossil-fuelled growth we have enjoyed, they will remain poor and, paradoxically, their populations will continue to increase, making the world's carbon footprint very much larger in the long run.

As they die, and as global temperature continues to fail to rise in accordance with the IPCC's laughably-exaggerated predictions, the self-congratulatory rhetoric that is the hallmark of the now-useless, costly, corrupt UN will again be near-unanimously parroted by lazy, unthinking politicians and journalists who ought to have done their duty by the poor but are now - for the third time in three decades - failing to speak up for those who are about to die.

My fellow-participants, there is no climate crisis. The correct policy response to a non-problem is to have the courage to do nothing. Take courage! Do nothing, and save the world's poor from yet another careless, UN-driven slaughter.----

Things We Can Help, Things We Can't.

The recent episode with Barack Obama and his beloved Rev. Jeremiah Wright has picked America's racial scab, and it's bleeding again! Every time that scab begins to heal into a smooth scar, some leftist race hustler comes along to re-open the wound.

1. Something black people should know:

White people in general have a perfectly understandable contempt and even disgust for the most obvious element of black culture, the gangsta-rap, thug culture. It even permeates major sports. Taunting in football and basketball used to be verboten! It was known as poor sportsmanship. I don't even care who buys it.
RACISM IS NOT the reason why black murderers, rapists, strong-armed robbers, and junkies literally fill the jails in numbers FAR out of demographic proportions. When brilliant blacks like Thomas Sowell, Larry Elder, and Walter Williams get 1% as much coverage in the leftist "mainstream" media as Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, L'il Kim, "community activists", and Louie Farrakhan, you might understand how bad impressions get started.
When a white person notices this, he/she is not a RACIST or even a bigot, that person has a pulse.
Much of black America suffers from a deep sickness and we know it! The vast majority of us wish it weren't so.

This is bad behavior, and can be HELPED or CHANGED.

2. Something white people should know:

Honesty time now. Have you ever noticed how MOST of the biggest and worst haters in our race are also white trash? You KNOW it's true. I grew up in a mixed racial area that could best be described as lower middle class and I knew who hated who and why.
When a bright, ambitious, hard-working black person wakes up early in the morning and looks in the mirror, do you know what they see (other than messy hair)? Black skin.

Due to "affirmative action" many can't help but wonder if their effort and talent propels their achievements more than their melanin. How tragic and dehumanizing. It's gotta be in the back of their mind. How couldn't it be?
Since the vast majority of people legitimately "in power" in the business world are white, maybe you can understand that same smart, hard-working, black person's feelings when he runs up against a serious white bigot of a boss. Oh sure, he/she can quit and work elsewhere (my option), but should he have to? It's not easy giving your heart and soul to a company just to run into a STUPID roadblock. I'm not saying this happens all the time or even "frequently", but it damn sure happens!

These problems occur because of skin color/race. People are BORN black or white or some variation thereof and have no control over that. They can't help or change that.
SO WHY HOLD IT AGAINST THEM?!

Am I the only one here who longs for a color-blind society? A true and honest Meritocracy would be the ideal in my opinion.
You race hustlers (black) and racial bigots (black and white) should be deeply ashamed. You concentrate on the ONE THING a person cannot change;

THE RACE THEY WERE BORN INTO!

A Conservative's State of the Union Address!

We conservatives will have to wait AT LEAST 4 years to hear a State of the Union speech like this one. It's OUR fault for not jumping in behind Mitt or Fred soon enough with our full weight, so we got the media's choice, John McCain. Sit back and enjoy this address to the union, and imagine it coming from George Allen or maybe if we're lucky, Mitt Romney four years from now.

Good evening my fellow Americans. I come to you tonight with some innovative ideas that will change our country for the better and will ensure our long term survival as a republic of free people. These ideas may seem revolutionary to many of you, but they would be second nature to our Founding Fathers, people like John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. After all, you didn't elect me to take opinion polls, you elected me to lead and defend our country.

Let's start with the war against radical Islam. Islam is not now, and never has been a religion of peace. From day one it has been spread by the sword. Jihad, or holy war, is one of Islam's most important doctrines. Those Muslim countries that wish to live in peace with the rest of the world and NOT support terrorism will be friends of America and business partners. Those who wish to support radical Islam and terrorism will be our enemies until we vanquish you and install democratic reforms in your countries. To achieve this end WE WILL BE RELENTLESS !! We will blockade your oil exports for starters and if that diesn't work invasion will commence. The days of mixed messages emanating from Washington D.C are over! I say again, in the war on radical Islam, you are either with us or you are against us.

That brings us to our current energy problems. America is far too reliant on foreign oil for our energy needs. We all know that the money spent on mideast oil too often ends up in the hands of terrorists. Tomorrow I will issue Executive Orders opening up ANWR in Alaska and oil drilling off the coasts of Florida and California. The known oil deposits alone in these areas will lessen our dependence on foreign oil sources by approximately 50% inside of 8 years. I encourage all entrepreneurs out there to develop more efficient fuel cells and alternative fuels, as well as improvements in wind and solar power technology. This is best done in the private sector. Do NOT expect government handouts or grants for your energy research, you will know that you're successful when private investors are willing to invest in you! All price supports for ethanol will halt immediately, corn is a FAR more efficient food that it is a fuel source.

There is another critical issue that threatens the long term well being of our great republic. Government spending is out of control. Defense spending will remain untouched, but I will ask Congress to cut all other federal spending by 25% this year and an additional 10% next year, with zero budget growth years to follow. The Departments of Education, Commerce, Agriculture, Labor, HUD, Energy, and Health and Human Services are a miserable waste of your hard-earned tax dollars and will be eliminated by Executive Order tomorrow. We DESPERATELY need to privatize Social Security and Medicare. The budget forecasts for these two programs are never honestly dealt with and are a tremendous threat to our county's future. Social Security will be privatized, solvent and thriving when we have private accounts that are out of the reach of politicians' greedy hands. We will have a two year transition period for Medicare reform. We all know that health care can be horribly expensive. By opening up medical care to free market competition and eliminating harmful government mandates, the prices will come down dramatically and the quality of care will increase. The government will immediately dispense with the myriad of regulations on American insurance companies which drive up their prices. Step two of the medical reform package will include serious tort reform. Medicaid will be further restricted to the most needy and limited to American citizens ONLY !

Tax reform is also vital to our national survival.  I'll need your help with Congress on this issue, because it requires Congress to relinquish a tremendous amount of  it's power. I would like to implement the FairTax ! This is also known as the Retail Sales Tax. This would replace the Federal Income Tax and withholding system with a simple 22% sales tax on new goods and services. The research shows that this would be revenue neutral to the federal government and we would eliminate the IRS ! This would make our tax code truly voluntary without reducing revenue, eliminate BILLIONS in embeddeed taxes and bring offshore corporate dollars back into the United States economy. This is a winning idea for America's future prosperity. Please call your congressman and together we can make the FairTax happen.

Starting tomorrow I will be on the phone with the governors of all the border states, encouraging them to send their state's guard troops to the border to defend our border against illegals while we build that double wall that we've promised for so long. If they refuse to help we will stop their federal highway money until they help defend America. Defending our southern border isn't only to defend against terrorism or cheap labor ruining our jobs, we want to preserve our unique American culture. Allowing unassimilated Hispanic hordes into America in vast numbers damages our way of life in dozens of different ways. LEGAL immigration is good for America. Illegal immigration is not!

The state of America's government schools is a national disgrace. It's my goal to privatize the current government school system which ill serves so many students today and directly threatens America's future. This cannot be done overnight, but I want to offer school vouchers for all government school children starting next school year. The money will go with the child. Teacher's unions are dead set against this idea and practically own the Democrat Party, so again I will need your help implementing this plan. It is the ONLY way to dramatically increase the quality of education for America's schoolchildren.

For two-hundred and thirty years The United States of America has been a beacon of hope and a bastion of freedom for oppressed people everywhere. These reforms will help us keep that dream alive, so that this great experiment in human freedom will never perish from the earth ! Goodbye for now and God bless you all !

Well we can dream can't we?

Lord Monckton on Global Warming.

I believe that the myth of man made global warming is the single biggest long-term threat to our freedom; and YES I'm including radical Islam and the Teacher's Unions in that assessment!

A Conservative Answers an Atheist.

Last night one of the regular posters at FrontPage Magazine, "DumbLikeAFox", let loose with an atheist screed that was TERRIBLY hostile and misinformed, but one I'm rather familiar with. I've read almost the EXACT same words from one of the most miserable dirtbags who ever sullied the pages of FPM, the DISSENTER. Atheist hostility towards people of faith is sometimes so palpable that one is left with the impression that atheists view themselves in "competition" with the faithful. There are many thoughtful exceptions to this rule, but this hostility seems to be the rule.

As an aside, when self-professed atheists control the state we invariably end up with Communism or Fascism. Atheist governments feel no compunction to respect any "G-d given" rights of the people. They seek to perfect the imperfectable humans in their midst. We "round" humans just REFUSE to fit into "square" holes! That's when the bloodletting commences. Refer to Robespierre, Mussolini, Hitler, or Stalin.
(I've Italicized the correspondence for ease of reading)

This is DLAF's atheist rant from last night:

"Religion has to be the greatest bull-hit story ever told. Think about it, religion has actually convinced people that there's an INVISIBLE MAN...LIVING IN THE SKY...who watches everything that you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten special things that he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry for ever and ever 'til the end of time...but he loves you."---DLAF

Mike's reply to this hostile rant was beautiful, and dare I say--poetic.

"Interesting. I'm glad you're a physicist because you'll have a much deeper understanding than most.

To be an atheist physicist you have to believe that billions upon billions of galaxies composed of billions of stars spreading across an area so vast that it takes around 15 billion years for light traveling 6.2 trillion miles per year to reach from one side to the other.

Yet all this impossible to imagine tremendous amount of mass was compressed into an area 1 x 10 to the -48 centimeter. And in an instant (where time and space itself ,not to mention the word "instant",have no meaning) this amount of energy exploded forth from an area no larger than the distance of an electron from it's nucleus. After some time the energy accelerated in a way governed by scores of arbitrary constants. Any one of these scores of constants being of any other value then they just happened to be and matter would not exist, let alone suns, planets, plants and cocker-spaniels.

And there is the rub. All these perfectly tuned variables have the probability of near zero of simply randomly occurring the way they did.

But they did, now didn't they? That's where the evidence takes you. That's what you have to believe. And somehow you think that tale happening randomly is somehow less fantastic and bizarre than suggesting their is a greater purpose behind it? That it was intended?

So let me answer your question this way. I have a logical mind. In all my years I have never once purchased a lottery ticket. Not for any moral or anti-gambling reason, but simply because I understand the mathematical odds. In fact, I believe the lottery to be a tax on the mathematically illiterate. My loving and dear wife, on the other hand, has purchased a ticket every week for the past 27 years.

Now I ask you, another person with a logical mind and an understanding of numbers, to do two things....

1) I want you to calculate in rough terms the odds of the universe occurring the way it did with all its myriad variables randomly falling into place in just the precise way it did so that matter itself is possible and its subsequent evolution into a universe no doubt full of life conscious enough to ask the question "Where did I come from? Why I am I here?".

2) When, in much frustration, you've calculated that the odds of you winning the lottery are nearly infinitely greater than the universe unfolding in the precise way it did, then I want you to go drop to your knees and pray to the Great Void and thank it for THAT happy random coincidence.

Care to buy a lottery ticket? It sure looks more attractive now, doesn't it?"---Mike

I've come to much the same conclusion, and had that conclusion reinforced while helping my daughter with her Physical Science and Algebra homework. The world we live in has RULES! It seems as though we live in an ordered universe, at least as we perceive it. The atheist with his telescope or microscope or chalkboard will always miss the hand of the Creator in the natural world that he observes and uncovers, while the believer will appreciate His work. You don't have to believe in the creation myth or be a Biblical literalist to understand the brilliance of the Creator.

To be an atheist you are a believer in coincidences--THOUSANDS as a matter of fact!

People who think of Evolution as a refutation of G-d's very existence are almost childlike in the simplicity of their thought processes. For example they never stop to ask, "Is it possible that He created evolution as a means for animals to adapt and survive when the rest of nature throws us a wicked curveball?"

This morning a friend of mine, Zabelle sent me this link of the renowned astrophysicist Owen Gingerich discussing the intersection of faith and the Periodic table. You MUST go view it!    http://meaningoflife.tv/video.php?speaker=gingerich&topic=complete

I view Biblical literalists and atheists with the same intellectual contempt. They've earned it!

What Would Buckley Say (WWBS) About Charlie Crist?

Christians have popularized the expression, "What Would Jesus Do" when dealing with life's dilemmas. It's abbreviated WWJD? I really like it!

Now another GIANT has passed from the scene, William F. Buckley Jr., one of the greatest Americans of the last 100 years. Read the articles today for a brief synopsis of his "Olympian" achievements.

Constitutionalists and Conservatives (the overlap is tremendous) would be well-served to apply the "Buckley test" to all political questions. Ask "What Would Buckley Say" (WWBS) when confronting political problems.

Here's one:

WWBS about a "moderate" Republican Presidential nominee who picks a POPULIST Republican Governor as his running mate? As much as McCain aggravates Conservatives, Crist would send us running for the hills and voting Libertarian or for the Constitutionalist Party!

Crist is a RINO who claims to be the "People's Governor", and he's has CAUSED an insurance crisis in the state of Florida. By capping rates and limiting free market competition he's guarenteed that most companies will NO LONGER write new policies in the state! Thanks Charlie!!! Why is Charlie an Republican? He's a tax cutter and pro-life. And that's it.

Oh, rational people should like this, Charlie's an enviro-wacko of the first water. I've been at meetings where this Warmista nut job assailed us for 15 straight minutes about the "planetary crisis." G-d save this great Republic from these modern day fascists!

WWBS about the quality of a McCain-Crist ticket? What do you think?

A MUST READ Essay on Our Current Dilemma.

On occassion someone really hits a home run and gives us a unique insight into what this country is up against. Do you think it's unusual that we are faced with such a bevy of Populist demagogues? If you're pressed for time, scroll 90% of the way down and read "The Death of America", it should scare the pants off of you! When you're done reading this brilliant essay on the Materialist Faith, feel free to pass it on. Make sure to visit the American Thinker and read the ads so we're fair to that site and the brilliant author, that's VITAL.

The Materialistic Faith of Communism, Socialism, and Liberalism

By Linda Kimball

February 23, 2008

For over eighty-five years, America has been incrementally conquered by the same madness-inducing demon of hatred and violence that earlier took over Russia, China, Germany, and Italy.

Rabbi Aryeh Spiro concurs,

"There is a madness in today's liberal thinking.  It insists on policies that tie our hands to defend ourselves while given free reign to the jihadists intent on killing us.  It is dangerous because it is becoming the law, and thinking of the land in the western world." (Liberal Madness is Deadly 1/24/08)

This demon is embodied in "enlightened" Liberals and the West's transnational "elite," both of which are deeply infected by materialistic Communism (Cultural Marxism) and the delusion that the true enemy of America is always on the Right.  Having rejected God and the religious heritage of our civilization, they embrace instead a new order of beliefs of which Communism and Socialism are logical expressions.  A new world order is what they seek, but in order that it can emerge, the existing culture must be completely destroyed.

And what is Communism?  Using the former Soviet Union as an example, Frank Meyers describes it as, "The state form taken by a materialist faith determined to rule the world."    Communism or scientific materialism is "the final synthesis of all heretical tendencies that have pervaded Western civilization for many centuries."  It is materialist scientism, of which,

"Communism is the culminating hubris of the Promethean man who reaches out for the world and means to remake creation.  It is scientism gone political." (The Conservative Intellectual Movement, pp. 251-252)

We are All Materialists Now

"An age of science is necessarily an age of materialism," declared Hugh Elliot early last century, "Ours is a scientific age, and it may be said with truth that we are all materialists now."  (Darwin Day in America, John G. West, xiv)

Materialist faith, or scientific materialism, has virtually displaced America's founding Judeo-Christian worldview with the result that materialism is now the operative assumption for much of our government, culture, politics, and law.  Materialist operatives now control every public institution in the United States.  According to the inner logic of materialist faith, "we the people" are nothing but socially-constructed atomized robots which can presumably be deconstructed and melted into an atomized mass.  Toward both this goal and to raise up an army of street thugs who will destroy our culture, materialist change-agents use our education system to subvert and convert the minds of our youth.  Should they succeed in thoroughly corrupting them and in turning their hearts to hate, this generation of children may become the next Khmer Rouge, who at Pol Pot's order murdered nearly two-million people, including their own families.

What is Materialism?

As Robert Jastrow (b. 1925), recipient of NASA's Medal for Exceptional Studies explains, there are only two possible explanations for the origin of life:  evolution and creation.

"...science has no...answer to the question of the origin of life on earth.  Perhaps (life) is a miracle.  Scientists are reluctant to accept that view, but their choices are limited:  either life was created...by the will of a being outside...scientific understanding, or it evolved...spontaneously through chemical reactions...in nonliving matter...The first theory...is a statement of faith in the power of a Supreme Being not subject to the laws of science.   The second theory is also an act of faith (which assumes) that the scientific view...is correct, without having concrete evidence to support that belief."  (Until the Sun Dies, Jastrow, 1977, pp. 62-63)

America is founded on the Judeo-Christian creation model.   Materialist faith rises or falls on the assumptions of metaphysical materialism and evolution.

Materialism belongs to the family of Naturalism, which refers to the view that nature (or matter) is the Ultimate Substance of which the universe and all life are made, thus "all is one."   C. S. Lewis describes naturalism as a box with its top sealed tightly closed in order to keep out God and the supernatural realm.  The ancient Ionians, Babylonians, Egyptians, and Aztecs were, for example, naturalists.  In this view there is but one realm (the material or natural) as opposed to Judeo-Christianity's creation model with its two interacting realms: natural and supernatural.

There are two basic kinds of Naturalism:  materialism (i.e., Communism) and pantheism (i.e., Nazism and New Age Spiritual Communism).  The two kinds differ chiefly about whether the First Cause or Absolute Substance is nonliving, non-intelligence bearing matter or an unknowing, unknowable, amoral mind.  However, both kinds are united by their rejection of the transcendent, personal God and the supernatural realm and by their acceptance of some form of evolution, which serves as an impersonal, mechanical process of development.

Birth of Scientific Materialism: A Brief Historical Overview

As will be shown by the following overview, scientific materialism is not founded on empirical science, as has been its deceptive claim, but rather on metaphysics.

In the main, modern materialism originated in the metaphysics of the ancient Ionians and Stoics during the sixth century BC.  However, it was the Atomists (Leucippus/Democritus, 460-357 BC; Epicurus, 342-270 BC; and Lucretius, 96-55 BC) who methodically developed materialism.

Forged in a furnace of narcissism, envy, and contempt, Atomism was from its inception an antihuman abomination which in later years, would attract those who enjoy the control and domination of others.   Atomism set all things in ceaseless, purposeless motion by reducing everything---including man, his soul, and even his thoughts---to mindless atoms perpetually colliding with each other in a void.  Man was reduced to a soulless, mindless machine that could only ‘see' a tree because the tree emitted atoms which entered machine-man's eyes and implanted themselves onto his brain.  This view has changed very little:

"We are descended from robots, and composed of robots..."   --Daniel C. Dennett, Kinds of Minds

Plato and Aristotle were the most forceful and compelling critics of Atomism.  In Book X of Laws, Plato indicts the Atomists for reversing the natural order, which they did by placing dead matter before Nous (mind/soul), and for the reductionism that sets everything in motion and reduces man to a machine.  Plato foresees only misery, social disintegration and ultimately, "the ruin of both states and families" should Atomism become the accepted view.

Though Christianity reared a mighty barrier against Atomism, it would be resurrected--- along with the hylozoism of the Ionians and Stoics---during the Renaissance by among others, pantheist Giordano Bruno and the heretic Paracelsus, an alchemist described by C.S. Lewis as a magician in his book, The Abolition of Man.

Hylozoism (Greek hyle=nature; zoe-life) is the doctrine according to which all of nature's bodies (i.e., sun, earth, moon, trees, man) possess life, mind, soul, and even divinity.   By infusing Atomism with Ionian hylozoism, what might be called materialzoism was invented by Bruno, Paracelsus, and others.   In short, dead matter was not just brought to life but deified.

The Franco-Germanic Enlightenment

With "God dead" and the source of man's humanity (mind/soul) expropriated by materialists and conferred upon "dead matter," a rush to discover the key that unlocks the mystery to life and mind was ignited which in later years unleashed unspeakable evil.  For in believing that without a doubt, they now possessed the gnosis (secret knowledge) to not only design a utopia but create a New Man with a reprogrammed mind and conscience, Nazi and Soviet scientists performed sadistic experiments on living human beings.  It was of these later scientific materialists that C.S. Lewis wrote his book, "The Abolition of Man."  Even now, wrote Lewis, the process to "abolish Man goes on apace among Communists and Democrats (and) Fascists."  The methods, said Lewis, may at first differ in brutality.  But "enlightened" materialists from scientists to philosophers to academe and to political leaders mean, in the long run, "Just the same as the Nazis..."  The West and America are to be destroyed and "mankind to be cut out in some fresh shape at the will" of scientific materialists who Lewis calls the Conditioners and Innovators.  These people, noted Lewis, are no longer men, for they have stepped out into the void.

Among the horde of Prometheans who set out to discover the animating-power of machine-man was Giovanni Aldini, who performed macabre experiments on decapitated oxes, horses, lambs, and -- once he had overcome his repugnance, on humans.  For his experiments, he procured the freshest specimens possible by placing himself "under the scaffold, near the axe of justice..."  Believing that some type of electricity was the source of machine-mans animation, Aldini applied electricity to various parts of decapitated human heads.  This produced "the most horrid grimaces (but the) action of the eyelids was exceedingly striking."  Aldini rationalized his repugnant experiments by saying that only the "unenlightened part of mankind (will be) apt to entertain a prejudice..."  (Darwin Day in America, p. 15)

Yet more power-crazed Prometheans emerged.  Julien de la Mettrie (1709-51), Paul Henri Thiery, and Baron D'Holbach (1723-89) all agreed that the mind is the property of dead matter and man nothing but a machine.  La Mettrie speculated that machine-mans rational life is entirely determined by physical causes that run the gamut from raw meat, to climate, blood circulation, and gender.  Genetic inheritance, posits la Mettrie, causes machine-man to commit crime.  This view casts parents into the role of "first cause" and would later manifest itself in the belief that State ‘experts,'  or Hillary's "village" experts should have control of children.   (ibid, pp. 16-18)

Pierre Simon Laplace (1749-1827) viewed scientific materialism as not only the pursuit of God-like omniscience but of the Holy Grail itself---power to create a New Man.   If an intelligence could grasp "at a given instant...all the forces by which nature is animated" proclaimed Laplace, it could devise a mathematical formula that would predict everything that would ever happen, and "nothing would be uncertain, and the future, like the past, would be open to its eyes."  Scientists should reduce everything in the universe to mechanical laws that could be expressed in terms of mathematics, advised Laplace, for the promise of such knowledge was incredible power...even over life and mind itself.  (ibid, p. 20)

Herbert Spencer, Fechner, Lotze, Wundt, and pantheist Ernst Haeckel, inventer of the scientism dictum---ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny---all agreed that life and mind are properties of dead matter.  Haeckel moreover imagined ether to be the primitive life-making substance which, as was the case with the primitive fire of the Stoics, changed one part of itself into inert mass while the other part became the active principle, spirit.  Today, many scientists routinely resort to Haeckel's postulate without ever inquiring into its pantheist implications.

Haeckel would later write, "Pantheism teaches that God and the world are one...pantheism is...an advanced conception of nature (and) a polite form of atheism."  The truth of pantheism, confessed Haeckel, "lies in its destruction of the dualist antithesis of God..."  The godless world system being constructed, said Haeckel, "substantially agrees with the monism or pantheism of the modern scientist."  (Monism, Ernst Haeckel, www.pantheist.net/)

During the century to follow, Charles Darwin (1809-82) would help spread materialism to the masses.   As Stephen Jay Gould argues, "Darwin applied a consistent philosophy of materialism to his interpretation of nature, "and "the ground of all existence; mind, spirit, and God (are reduced to) neural complexity." (ibid, p. 41)

According to Darwin, natural selection and the laws of heredity acting on matter produced mind, morality, and civilization.  By describing how deified natural mechanisms caused the complexity of life to emerge from deified matter, Darwin helped transform materialism from a fantastically bizarre tale told by power-mad Prometheans on the fringe of society to a hallowed scientism principle enshrined and worshipped by modern scientism and ‘enlightened' Westerners.

It was during this time that Social Darwinism, Progressivism, Socialism, Communism (Cultural Marxism, New Left), Nazism, and Secular Humanism were developed out of metaphysical materialism.  Classical Liberalism on the other hand, was subverted and corrupted by the materialist faith into what is now known as modern Liberalism.  Of these, Communism (Marx and Engel's dialectical materialism), is considered to be the most highly developed philosophy of materialism.  It rests on three fundamental metaphysical presuppositions:

* 1. Deified Matter: The Ultimate Substance which, though non-living, non-intelligent, and non-conscious, nevertheless somehow possesses the emergent properties of life, mind, consciousness, and soul.

* 2. Evolution: Since Marxist dialectic requires a theory with clashes (thesis and antithesis) and leaps (synthesis), Marxists have all but abandoned Darwinism and instead have embraced punctuated equilibrium. "Many people confound dialectic with the theory of evolution," noted G. Plekhanov. "Dialectic is, in fact, a theory of evolution. But it differs profoundly from the vulgar (Darwinian) theory of evolution." (Fundamental Problems of Marxism, 1929, p. 145)

* 3. Spontaneous Generation: An offshoot of specifically Darwinian thought accepted unreservedly by Marxists as their dialectic requires a strictly materialist explanation for the origin of life from dead matter. In the words of M.A. Leonov: "Marxist philosophical materialism remains beyond all doubt that at some time or other in the remote past, life must have arisen from non-living matter." (Outline of Dialectical Materialism, 1948, p. 494)

In a modified version of the Stoic conception of the earth as a living organism possessed of its own soul, neo-pantheist dialectical materialism declares that earth is "one entire organism...its organs the various races and nations of men."  Not only is the earth alive and evolving upward on evolution's magical escalator, but so too are history and society, for they also are living entities in a continuous state of motion.  And man?  In a modified conception of Atomism's extremely dehumanizing view of man, dialectical materialism states that man is nothing but "a colonial aggregation of cells," and to "consider him an individual would be an error."  Man---the aggregate of cells--- is nothing but an extension of society, history, and earth.  (Russian Textbook on Psychopolitics, Chapter II: The Constitution of Man as a Political Organism)

Death of America?

Modern materialist states began by rejecting God and denying objective standards of right and wrong.  They threw out sanctity of life and demonically reduced man to matter in motion.   The end case, in every instance, was to place absolute power over  "atomized masses" into the hands of psychopaths and autocratic states to be wielded without restraint or mercy.

Of all religions, the materialist faith has been by far the bloodiest.  In his book, Death by Government, R.J. Rummel comprehensively details the roughly 170 million people murdered by materialist governments during the 20th century.  From 1917 to its collapse in 1991, the Soviet Union liquidated about 62 million.  During Mao Tse-tung's reign, 35,236,000 were murdered.  Hitler's Nazi's killed 21 million.    Even at its mildest, as is thus far the case here in America, there is a steady level of confiscation, corruption, fraud, and stifling of freedoms and free speech.  For the first time ever, Americans are afraid of saying certain words.  Parents fear disciplining their own children.  More ominously, materialists in control of America (i.e., ACLU, activist judges) have rejected God and thrown out both sanctity of life and objective standards.  "We the people" have been reduced to atomized beings.   Totalitarianism and genocide loom just over our horizon.

As early as 1926, President Calvin Coolidge was aware of and deeply concerned by the insidious spread scientific materialism in America.  As he knew, Americans are free only because of the Judeo-Christian foundation laid by the country's founders.  In a speech he delivered in Philadelphia, July 5, 1926 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, Coolidge tried to call American's back to their Judeo-Christian heritage.  He told Americans that the Declaration's principles of liberty arise from man's God-given inalienable rights.  And these are found, said Coolidge, "in the texts, the sermons, and the writings of the early colonial clergy..."  The clergy preached equality "because they believed in the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man."  Sanctity of life, the right to self-defense, and all the rest of our individual liberties were justified "by the text that we are all created
